Crayon Physics Deluxe Preview
I made a New Year’s resolution to update this blog more often and with more meaningful posts. Ironically this blog posts marks a very special occasion, it’s been 18 days since my last blog post which is officially the longest I’ve gone without updating this blog. So I’m off to a flying start this year
Anyhow, I wanted to point out that John Walker over at Eurogamer wrote a preview of Crayon Physics Deluxe. Here’s my favorite quote from the article:
Most of all, even playing this in-progress build, what’s clear is quite how lovely Crayon Physics Deluxe is going to be. It’s a warm, cuddly experience, but also a fantastically well-designed one. The puzzles start off simple, and introduce new concepts matching the difficulty curve.
Sweet.

Eurogamer also wrote an nice assembly about all the IGF finalists. You can read it here: http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=91512

I just wanted to be sure to thank you for the available preview and let you know that I still check back here periodically to make sure I didn’t miss the notification e-mail.
I wait with bated breath for the Deluxe release!
Thanks a million for all the great fun.

I can’t wait for this to be released.
I’ve been playing the Crayon Physics prototype almost daily since i got it. I’ve also got a small ported version of your physics engine on the DS to play around with. I’ll keep checking back if you keep up the great work!

I’ve had a change to play Crayon Physics on the iPhone. It was fun but a little bit bugy.

It’s certainly looking impressive. The last Eurogamer screenshot has given me an idea- I can’t wait to try making my own trebuchet.

you wont release crayon physics deluxe, whats the bet you sell it instead, tight ass!!

I can’t wait for this. It’s extremely innovative and when I first saw the video I thought it was a DS game from a major company. Also I recommended the demo to my physics teacher and it was pretty cool playing it on the touch screen board.

Wow, I have to say you are amazing. I found your game through a tablet pc forum, and god do i think its incredible. I’m quite amzed at how far technology has gone. I bet by physics prof would love this! Keep doing what your doing, I’ll definitely be checking back here again to see what your working on.

Great game. I love it and wait patiently for the Deluxe version to arrive.
You really are a talented programmer. Being a programmer myself, I can say that it takes a dedicated person to come up with games like these. I think, however, that you have really hit on something with Crayon Physics. It is really addicting.

Is there any Linux port planned ? It seems to be developped on SDL, a multiplateform game would be so coooooool. I love the idea, makes me thinking about “The Incredible Machine”.
Excellent ! (hope to see it in linux)

Any way to download this in progress one?

There’s a complete rip-off of crayon physics out there, called marker world now =\
February 17th, 2008 at 9:35 am
no, it is not a “Rip-Off”, because I believe marker world credits crayon physics as inspiration.
As well as pocket physics, chalk physics, scribble, and several other games similar, they are nice to say they didnt come up with the idea.

Congratulations! I just saw crayon p for the first time this evening (The award was mentioned in a danish newspaper ;-). It’s very cool. Refreshing with a total new gameplay. It reminds me of “the good old days” in the beginning of the 90’s, when I tossed around with some assemble-coding, trying to make a little simple playable thing.
Greetings, Roar, DK

*** PLEASE *** make a Mac version of this game. I know it might take a bit of work, but this game looks too cool to be single platform.

FYI theres a program out there similar to this, its called “Phun” a 2D physics simulation.
Its more of a sandbox than a puzzle game however, and doesnt have the warm atmosphere of this game

I can’t even put to words how innovative that game was. You are really something else. Thanks for what you’ve done. And thanks for the free entertainment.

“The Marriage is an art game, so be warned.” sometimes yes, sometimes it is the worst game ever. hehe. I may be consider it as a game when were in love; but if any one else fall out of love, then it may be as tricky as that. it is the worst game ever.
